Rebecca is an adopted Texan by way of Wyoming, NoVA, & Costa Rica. Her background is a vast combination of marketing, public relations, entrepreneurship and a healthy amount of sports mom to keep things interesting. She first became interested in real estate after buying and selling her own homes and being very under-impressed with the marketing materials. Her keen eye for the details coupled with her complete adoration of other humans makes her a great fit for the crazy world of real estate!
After growing up in Wyoming, Rebecca headed off to the one stop light city of Chadron, NE where she changed majors three times in two years. From there, she took a year off and moved across the country to move in with total strangers and was a live-in nanny in Leesburg, VA with a family of six who remain part of her extended family. While there, she happened upon a young strapping man and decided to stay in Virginia to finish school. She graduated from George Mason University with a Communications/PR degree and took a job with a company she knew absolutely nothing about, the Washington Redskins, and served as the Special Events Manager for the Charitable Foundation and Community Affairs departments. She jumped in feet first and learned all about downs and yards and planning events for thousands of people! During that time, her strapping man became her husband and they welcomed their first son in 2005.
In 2007, Rebecca and her family moved to Costa Rica where the in-laws live, situated on 800 acres near the pacific coast beaches of Guanacaste. While they originally went to develop a second home/golf community, the timely collapse of the economy had them changing those plans and instead, they developed a small hot sauce company. After four years and another child in Pura Vida, it was time to re-settle back in the states and Austin became the favorite option. Upon arriving in Austin, Rebecca took a job managing listings for a top Realtor in town before planting her roots at Avalar where she quickly embraced the family friendly, supportive team culture. She received her real estate license in 2014 and has been serving as the Avalar office and marketing manager as well as representing both Buyers & Sellers in this ever changing, fast-paced market. Her multi-tasking skills keep her on top of her game, and her attention to detail ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
